I hunted around Adelaide the other day for Jonny Greenwood’s solo work, Bodysong and sure enough, the last place I went, I found it.
What can I say first about this gem. It’s relentless, it’s art, it’s a story. A story of life, to the point of mortality. The opening track Moon Trills is birth, happy and instrumental -filled with light. It’s capped with Tehellet a sad sad string piece that has influenced of The Tourist -one of Greenwood’s works from Radiohead.
Every base is covered in between. Every instrument you can think of, and genre is performed. I hear mutterings of Miles Davis, Pink Floyd and The Beatles.
It’s a winner. I knew all along it would be.

Two new sites on their way…
I have two new sites that I’ll start developing soon:
WiCranium:- (inspiration – thought provoking – brilliant – radiohead)
This will be my personal Radiohead fan/news/blog site. Here I will express my views on the band, coming tours, current and [future] album(s) and all that jazz. I have a lot to say about the band and its members so I will be sure to keep the content fresh and constant.
Need to arrange a theme at this stage so over the next week or two I will be searching around the place for existing WP themes that I can tweak or a designer to knock me up one. The graphics have been started, just unsure which direction I wish to travel with them. Grungy and expressionistic or clean and poetic. We’ll see…
The purpose of TheShutterBlog (TSB) is as a photography resource blog. I haven’t seen many photography blogs around the place -especially ones that offer something unique, fresh and fun. (And that I like!)
I will be reporting on TSB at business/internet/tech site, Pajago. I have seen the case study format followed before; NBB’s case study on a rock n’ roll blog that was created 1) to service a niche and; 2) to educate others.
On TSB I’ll be posting various tid-bits of knowledge on both film and digital photography, various photo essays of mine, 101’s and other junk.
Keep an eye out for those sites.

Tuesday 29th.
Today was my final day of work for a couple of weeks. Very exciting. I haven’t much idea what to do in this space other than study some.
Went to Cibo today to do some reading and was interrupted by this random “older” guy that was there with his Asian Twink. You know when people are sitting there, looking around and they do that deep breath, almost a sigh? As if they’re trying to catch your attention -he did that. He could plainly see I was reading and concentrating yet he initiated conversation.
Cooked a super stir-fry. Lunch with H tomorrow and then I am getting stuck into these books.

Does Hollywood never learn?
Lindsay Lohan is caught for drink driving a crashes her car -again! Oh, that’s right, she was allegedly caught with illegal drugs too.
How is this a fine role-model for the kids of today. She’s cast on these big-budget Hollywood flicks that, in my opinion, hold no artistic merit anyway. She’s in the face of millions of viewers -many of them impressionable kids. And she gets away with her nonsense. Oh, and drinking underage? How does that work especially? She’s 20 (still, I think) and she drinks, drives and takes drugs.
Random Freddy would be arrested straight away but she gets away with it -along with many other high-profile celebs.
I think this is the third, publicly known car accident of hers too.
The amount of people that I know that look up to her is astounding. Are these people really that unintelligent or do they just like the level of trash that makes it somewhat entertaining. As Al Gore has said on the matter, “Iraq and Global Warming are things that need to be thought about, and prioritised in the media. Not Spears’ hair-cut or Paris’ impending jailing.”
-sigh-
I don’t mean to sound so stale and un-fun but seriously. I make the most in life and love to have a good time, but…

A run-down of last night.
Went to A-Roy for dinner. Awesome meal. Started with a Singha to accompany an entree of deep-fried South Australian oysters in a lime, ginger and chilli sauce. Following this I went with more seafood: a prawn curry that was green with fresh spinach and kafir lime leaves. Very tasty. The desert at A-Roy is awesome. We had the famed Bailey infused ice cream with green tea to drink.
One negative of the night was the service of one of the waitresses. We asked her how one menu item was pronounced and she replied with “I don’t know. I don’t speak Thai!” How is that relevant. Let’s say you’re at a an Italian cafe and ask how Zinfandel or Merlot is pronounced and the waiter replies with “I don’t speak French or Austrian.” It’s a waiters duty to know the menu. Simple… Especially in a basic Thai restaurant where there menu rarely if ever changes.
Anyways, enough of my rant. Next I went to the city to the R. Had a couple of beers and then went to my friend C’s place for some telly and catching up. That’s about it…

Thank god it’s the weekend.
So, I endured the a week at work that I was meant to have off. It was ok: pity about my measures.
Tonight I have M’s birthday dinner at that Thai restaurant and then drinks for H’s farewell in the city.
I’ll miss H. She’s been a rock in our team and someone I can feel truly comfortable talking to. Oh well, I’ll see her next when I am in Sydney.
B is coming over from Sydney. That, I can’t want till. Haven’t seen him in over a year and he’s coming for a couple of days. Yay…
Went to UniBooks yesterday to get a text book for uni. I can effectively start studying now -woot. It’s a grand book, hand cover; gold binding, all of that. I can’t believe I am getting excited by a text book.
At the moment I am watching some show on Nat Geo about Super Carriers. These people love their jobs and the prospects of blowing people up with nuclear weapons. I don’t understand how these people can enjoy being so destructive and supporting the U.S Government how they are. Oh well, each to their own. Some need to do it…
Anyways, i’ll let you’ll know how my day goes.

Thanks to Dead Air Space -Radiohead’s personal site- I discovered delocator.org.uk.
The aim of the site is to really instill a support-local, shun globalisation fostering companies like Starbucks attitude in people. Hey, that’s one I am willing to support.
