I just arrived back in the city from a night down South and thought I’d give the Wi-Fi access at the Library a shot. Reason being, I want to drop down to the Library, Cibo and such, after work with the laptop sometimes, to do a bit of work on the sites without the distraction of home.

There is something about being in an unusual environment that leads to productivity to me. The bus, at work, a cafe, walking along North Tce -these factors all get my brain ticking.

I must say, the Wi-Fi was so easy to set-up. I opened the trusty iBook; Safari opened the Internode log-in client; I clicked “guest” and I am on. As for speed -it sucks. I did a speed test and I am getting around 300KBPS. I am used to 18MBPS Cable back at home…

I tried to open AwStats for a few of the sites and it would just time-out. I’ll just wait till I get home, I don’t have any real need for the Wi-Fi at the moment anyways. Just a bit of exploration. Very yuppy!

On a different subject: went to S’s last night as planned. Went to some gig at Seaford that featured a band called Kiss Montana -very good- and a hell of a lot of EMO kids. Stayed there for a few hours and high-tailed it to S’s…

Wrist stamp from the gig.

He seemed distant and sure enough, my readings were correct. Again, he doesn’t know if he’s made the right decision. I am distraught. Oh well, hopefully I get over it. I wish I was never distruped on Friday night. I was having a great time with K and gang, and then this all happened.

Things happen for a reason I suppose. As much as I wish that didn’t happen on Friday. Deep down, I am glad. Otherwise I wouldn’t have reacted the way I did and thought all was good.

Went to visit S’s grandmothers grave-site with his family. V, his mum said “Paul. You’re really one of the family now!” -if only she knew what we talked about this morning and where it had lead us. Last night she made a similar comment when I walked in the door and too her surprise: “Oh, I never thought we’d see you again love.” I am glad they like and accept me.

Anyways, this has proved to be the most indepth blog entry to date. Just wait till I start discussing Australian telecommunication regulation and competition -hehe.

I should get going -mah and pah are awaiting my arrival at the East End Markets.

Guten Abend

Paul
